96 GSX , DSMlink , Check engine lights are turned off . Problem is it wont connect with New York motor vehicle computer through OBD2 .Is this because eprom ecu is a 95 and NYS computer reads 96 and up ? What do you do ? Any Ideas ? Thanks

i don't know if this is true but i heard that v3 wont pass on a 96+
That's kinda silly for someone to say.

They probably mean that the old "trick" of using the Palm App to set the OBD readiness flags to true with V2 won't work with V3. And they would be right about that.

But I hear there's a way to do it with V3 too. It's just not something we provide anywhere on our site.

just wanted to add that both my brother and I have ecmlink. we both live in N.Y and have no problem with n.y.s inspections. my brother had the same problem at first untill he unlocked it from ecmlink mode.
