Failed Emissions

I failed emissions today. my hydro carbons were way to high at idle. they are suppose to be 220 and they are 516. they are way off. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas at whats wrong with my car. i just replaced the spark plugs and they were all gapped at .04 or higher and the manual says .032 so thats what the new plugs are at. i was thinking it could be my 02 sensor. i went to a local shop and they said that one of my cylinders might not be running at full. i don't really believe that because none of my spark plugs looked real bad or nothin. my car is all stock now. waiting for a bunch of stuff to come from machV. any help would be awesome because i have a hard time trusting local shops for obvi reasons(greedy a**holes)

Since your car is stock I would say that one of your o2 sensors is bad.

note: 1g's only have 1 o2 sensor which it could be bad. .04 seems kind of wide, dont you think? why not gap them at .032 like the book said to?

no the spark plugs i took out were at .04+ the ones i put in now are at .032. i thought that might fix my prob but i just wondering if there was anything else i could do? would replacing 02 sensor be enough?

Gap those plugs to .028", and make sure you're running BPR6ES NGKs.
