I searched for a clutch on ebay and both these brands had about the same horsepower ratings and what not but can I get somebody's opinion on which brand is better... pretty much just which one will hold up better...

XTD Stage 4 Pressure Plate w/ Stage 3 Disk here. 2nd one, and have loved them. My first was in my Talon for over 10k without problems. Which is more than I can say for the ACT that was in it before that. I would be careful with their flywheels, but the clutches are AWESOME, not just from a pricing standpoint, but a performance standpoint as well.

I have a f1 racing stage 4 with sprung 6 puck. I am very happy with it. Held everything my 14b gave to it including lots of launches and multiple dumps from high rpms. Its holding my holset so far but to be honest I might change it out with a name brand when I get my built trans just for some peace of mind.

XTD and F1 are both the weakest freakin clutches i have EVER used. both of them broke within 1500 miles after break in time. do not waste your money.

If you had two clutches go that fast I'm gonna have to go with the installer not the clutch. I used two XTD clutches back before people bought into them like they do now and both worked perfect on a GT14 setup.

As with everything they won't all be perfect, some will break, some will be awesome, and some will just do exactly what you wanted out of them. I went ahead and got the ACT 2100. I got a great deal on it from SBR and I'll admit I payed a lil more the "the name" but also you get the security of it being a name brand. But F1 and XTD very well might be great products. It's more up to personal belief.

it's luck of the draw, most company build to spec once mass producing but occasionally i'm sure there are one that fail as with anything. I remember when the Super Nintendo came out mine wouldn't play any Capcom games. so far 2 years with an f1 stage 3 set up. So far so good.:thumb::rocks:

well iam going to try a xtd cause my act 2600 took a dump after 250 miles i was not even hard on it or nothing the pressure plate came apart and the disk is no good. the good thing is that the bolts holding the pressure plate were still there but no pressure plate. and it took out the tob

I believe that having a good quality is better than getting it in a cheaper price but low in quality.

sorry to bring this back from the dead ..but im trying to spend the money once ..BUT im not trying to break the bank either...im looking into purchasing the F1 stage 3 6-puck sprung..and possibly mate it to a fidanza flywheel .. has anyone done this ...has the people that posted earlier had any other issues with F1 or XTD?

thanks

I ran my F1 stage 2 for something like 20k miles before it finally died. That was spirited driving as well.

I once installed a XTD Stage 3 clutch on my gst...lasted 8 months, the clutch actually caused my transmission shift rails to snap, because the fingers of that clutch bent, and would not disengage, basically jammed itself. Sounds confusing, but I took everything apart, and all the evidence, in front of me lead me to believe all this was related. I hope this makes sense, I'm dead tired right now...LOL

im rocking xtd stage 4 unsprung.. i just hope that there prices dont go up.. because this clutch can compete with high end clutches. mods in my profile.. im boosting 25psi.. this clutch is awsome.. totally fit this economic down turn best bang for the buck trend.
