I'm going with one of these IC setups...since they are right in the price range i'm looking at...and will be enough when and if i upgrade from the evo3 16g i plan to run on my 91 gsx. I plan on keeping air conditioning in the car and power steering...and will probably only ever run a 20g or some type of ball bearing 50-trim in the future.

Thanks for your imput.

I absolutley love my SBR fmic. Since its short route, some trimming of sheet metal is required but its easy and well worth it. I have a whopping total of 3 IC pipes. T body elbow, and 2 straight peices no more than a foot long.

you know...i'm guessing the SBR kit is slightly better...

but i really like the extreme psi kit because the pieces are powdercoated.

thanks for the response..

I would also worry about the companies your buying from go to vendors-reviewed.com and read reviews on both companies and then decide.

I would definately get the SBR FMIC. Had one before and would buy again if I didn't already have one on my car. Great short route piping. Just a little trimming needed. Great proven core and I beleive they have a infrared picture of how well their intercooler really cools.

SBR doesn't make their own FMIC kits. Kinetic Motorsports makes the FMICs that SBR sells.

i went with extreme psi's kit because they use a garret core.

I know I am not a moderator but it seems that everytime I look at a SBR product thread, it turns out to be

or "SBR sucks". Either of which are useless because the thread is about a specific SBR product not their shop or their customer service. www.vendors-reviewed.com is a good place for these.

To the original poster: Take a look at www.extremeintercoolers.com, they offer a hybrid core or bar/plate or tube/fun core.

i have no experience with the extremepsi ic, only with their great customer exp...alot of my friends around here run the sb ic...the piping is great but the endtank welds have blown at least a couple of times...the short route idea is amazing, and powdercoating is a simple job that someone could do for an inexpensive price. the sb ic def cools, several guys run 35r's on big boost and don't have issues.

Do you have a specific reason or are you just following the crowd?

Yes, I am running this intercooler and it fit perfectly and performs nicely... 2 of my friends are selling either their apexi/greddy frount mount becuase they are heatsoaking after like 1 pull on the dyno... As stated before SBR all the way:rocks: :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: :rocks:

Why the SBR Kit? First of all, SBR HAS THESE IN STOCK. We also help to support this site and its members!

In reference to above, it's been said 100X, but I'll say it again. We designed the kit, sent them to Kinetic to be mass produced. We have more then 10 of each 1g, 2g, 1gstreet, and the MONSTER core's in stock. They would leave tommorow.

Ok thats fine i never disagreed with you on that. I simply stated the fact that SBR doesn't make the kits which according to your statement you agree with me.

i am Running the race extremepsi fmic kit w/ short route piping and blow thru set up, fits perfectly, and the pipes are nicely powdercoated.also the core is made by Garrett

Great pics but you guys should let everybody know that you are not using the same core as when those pics were taken.

I would not recomend an intercooler (SBR) that makes such an extreme bend on the cold side. Check out the DV/DT fab intercooler. There is another thread on this subject already and it contains a picture of this IC.

DVDT only makes a FMIC for the 2g's. The original thread posted stated he has a 91 GSX. I will agree with you though that Albert does excellent work and his FMIC kit for 2g's are quite possibly the best FMIC. I mean shit the cores are hand made cast aluminum.

I've been in recent contact with Albert and he did say that he will be making his cores and kits again soon, if time allows. I am definately looking into gettin one of his cores.

My brothers GST has the SBR kit and with the DSMlink we were seeing and intake temp of around 5 degrees above ambient on a few runs. I don't think it was too hot or cool outside that day, but I do live in Nebraska so.....
