external wastegate question.

What external wastegate would you prefer to put on a basic 14b setup? I have a 32mm flange on my 3" turboback, i was thinking TiAL cause i've heard nothing but good things from them, just wanting some more opinons.

why not use internal gate? but if you must, use tial, great brand, or hks. whatever is cheaper, both get the job done

I like the tials because they are affordable and work great ... but why an external on a 14b???

well i keep hearing all this about the boost creep I'm going to be getting from my 3" T.back exhaust, I want to make it as safe as possible.

external wastegate is beyond overkill on that little turbo. Maybe a ported O2 housing and if it comes down to it a little bit bigger wastegate flapper but that's it. External wastegate is pointless for that turbo.

I wouldnt say an external is pointless on any size turbo. I had to go back in and port my turbine housing several times before I got my creep down from 22 psi to 15 psi, on a 2.5 exhaust. If I had my external setup back then I would have had to waste all that time on work that doesnt add power. If one has the money, I HIGHLY recomend an external WG. There is no good reason not to go with it, unless noise is a problem. Then you have to do a O2 mounted/dumped back in version. Still far better than internals. I'll never go back to internal. When they arent causing creep, they are blowing open (search for previous posts by me on the topic on this site). Most people never know about it.

Internals work for some poeple. But there is nothing to lose going to external except money.
