External oil cooler install question

I have a 7 bolt and I was just wondering why I cant use my stock oil filter housing to install my external oil cooler if I pull the two plugs that are in the housing? I mean the AN fittings that came in the kit thread into the housing so im confused on why I have to buy a evo style oil filter housing or if I can make my setup work?

What type of fittings are you putting in the housing? If you have tapered thread you can't use them with the straight plug holes.

Well I bought STM oil cooler kits that have the -8AN fittings that thread into the OFH. I am just wondering why everyone is saying you have to buy the evo style housing to make an external oil cooler work. I understand that if I do it this way I am still going to have the original air cooled oil cooler

I know this has been brought up before also, but if I have the fittings pointing down instead of up or on the side, shouldnt the oil pressure from the engine push any air out of the system instead of reducing efficiency?

I purchased a sandwich adapter for my 7 bolt with a foreward facing filter housing and it works great. I don't think taking out those plugs will work
