Well, it's not _that_ bad. I just have light swirls and scratches everywhere on my exterior paint. I've tried different waxes and fillers but nothing seems to get rid of them. And when I do wax my car they're even more noticeable. How do you guys keep your paint looking good?

hey, i know what you mean, i had the same problem cause my eclipse is red like yours, i took it to maaco and got a DUPONT paint job and it looks beautiful, since it wasn't color change it only cost me around 600. you can't get rid of the swirls and the other stuff, believe me i tried!! if i were you i would just get it painted like i did, beautiful job and they are nationwide so it's reliable. But if you can't just go to there web site at www.maaco.com and click on their car care tips which i have followed a trust me THEY WORK. we the ones with RED cars gotta be very gentile with our paint cause the sun is our NEMESIS! :thumb:

heres what you do (if you haven't already) get a electric buffer/polishing wheel get two bonnets for it one for rubbing compound and one for swirl remover. if the scratches aren't that bad meaning deep just use this 3M product called Finess-it.(this bonnet is usally yellow with a big napp) squirt some on the quater panel, rub it in ithe the buffer off turn buffer on and work in one direction. when the polish starts to get dry buff in the opposite direction.( for example you start buffing left to right when removing go up and down) keep moving the buffer if you dont YOU WILL BURN THE PAINT and stay away from the edges. if the swirls are deep you need to get 3M super duty rubbing compound(bonnet is made of wool and is white)do the same for this as the polish. after this use the polish to get ride of swrils. you will notice that after the polish is being buffed off that ther becomes a build up of polish on the car that is when you use 3M imperial hand glaze and rub that on by hand in circular motion like a waxdo small sections at a time. if you have any questions PM me be glade to help just finish my car. with all three stages you can remove scratches made by 1000 grit sand paper or even biger just depends o the rubbing time.
hope this helps
