I bought these wheels from a guy who had them on his prelude. He said he had them painted gold and it looked "great". Well after looking at some pictures and driving a couple hundred miles to pick them up i got there and the wheels looked like CRAP in person. Well after driving all that way i wasn't leaving without the wheels. So after paying half the price we agreed on i was on my merry way back. The wheels were originally black enkies with a chrome lip.

So my question is, am I able to remove this paint and get back down to powdercoated finish? I believed he used this paint

on't think so, any paint remover will also eat powdercoating off. I would strip 'em down and repowdercoat them the color I wanted.

it will be almost impossible to take off what they put on with out taking off the finish of the original. your best may be to just sand them and then respray them with the right type of paint in your choice of color

pressure washer might do the trick. they're strong enough to take a chunk of skin off my wrist(skin is still pink there 2 months later).

You could always use aircraft stripper, it works wonders, it will remove the paint to the bear metal and after that you can paint them or preferably powder coat them.

That paint is enamel go to the local paint shop and the'll be abel to help. Don't use random solvents.
As long as he did not prep them you should be fine.

I agree, if he just sprayed them with no prep then your local paint shop might be able to remove that shit. If not then I'd just sandblast them and re spray them the right way.
