So I finally got a gsx and have my gst as my dd but im having a weird issue with starting. my gst starts with the key just being touched to on, but my gsx
will sit and crank and crank and crank and finally start. Ive tried flushing the
fuel system and a new fuel pump 195lph, cleaning the injectors, seafoam and last but not least a new battery and starter and still it takes forever to crank over and its starting to drive me nuts.. Nothin like being out with evos and soobies and you start so slow everyones like hey typical dsm cant get em to run long enough to race. So any help would be much appreciated:banghead:

Any check engine lights? Any other mods done to the car? A bad coolant temp sensor can cause it to crank over for awhile till it starts, along with bad cam angle sensors. I would check and make sure they both have a good connection.

New plugs also sorry forgot. Checked the basics already its crazy did a voltage check an .2v less.draw than the gst. Weird I thought coolant sensor but it does it cold or hot I can drive 2 minutes or 200 miles idk what else to check at this point.

I even swapped maf an coil pack no go still does it. Ya know the crappy part is when beemers do this its cause the Mohicans supplied high pressure fuel pumps taking a crap

Could be a fuel drain-back issue. There is a check valve in the top of the fuel pump that seems to be "iffy" on walbro fuel pumps.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so, check to see if the fuel pressure drops significantly 10mins after shutting off the off the car.

Note: DSM's do not run the fuel pump in the on position unless the engine is rotating ie: cranking/running.

Try priming the fuel manually ( if i remember... there should be a jumper conector in the engine bay)

It sounds like mine. But then again you say even when its hot it takes awhile to start?? I think youre having a pretty rapid dropoff in line pressure as soon as that pump stops running. For most people this is a gradual thing that gets worse and worse, but in your case sounds like it went from holding pressure one day, to nothing the next. Get an afpr or somehow get a fp gauge on there and bet youll see it drop to 0 in no time. Mine started dropping overnight, use to hold 35, then 30 then 20 etc..
