are there any exhaust systems that are not the n-1 style muffler? no offense but i just dont really like the sound of a 4 cyl. with a can style muffler and i hate the looks.. its my opinion im not trying to diss you if you have them,,,, i was just wondering if there was something that will make it slightly louder but not a whole lot... and i was looking for a british sports car type sound instead of a fart can...

i woulda put this in the bolt ons section but i am not permitted appearently

Thermal R&D sounds pretty nice, its deep sounding. HKS High Power is pretty good too my buddy has it on his Evo8 and it sounds amazing. I personally like the Apexi N-1 and the HKS High Power. Go on youtube and see videos on your car with different exhaust. Are you just going for sound or HP to?

im not nececarily after power but i dont want to harm it... i just dont like having a big can on the back of my car... i would rather have the muffler semi hidden and have a nice 3 inch tip sticking out... i also dont want to be the asshole that comes driving by and everyone looks because they think a mob of bees is coming after them...

i like a nice smooth sound with no rasp... i dont expect a 4 cyl. to sound deep or low like an american v8 but i want something that just sounds healthy and a little louder... not really loud just a smidge

that is nice... are there any others that are similar but maybe not so expensive? i looked those up and they are between 100 and 500 dollars... what is so different from taht and a thrush or cherrybomb turbo?

i didnt mean to offend the guy with the white r&d... its just not my style to be loud or have a can or straight through muffler on my car... also all of these mufflers you are showing me are like 500 dollars... im looking more in the 100 dollar range... i dont really need the downpipe and all just the muffler.. i already have headers.... around here some people ill actually step on and bend your exhaaust or stuff shit in them if you have a "fart can" there are jsut wayy to many ricers around here... i have heard some can mfflers taht sound ok but i just dont like the style

A turbocharged car doesn't have a header.

If you want cheap, get an Advanced Auto Parts Special Muffler. A fart can is something you buy from Pep Boys for 40.00, these are full exhaust systems proven to make power, this is a tuning site after all. The worst some douche bag who wants to step on your exhaust is going to do is rip it off the hangers, stainless steel doesn't break easy.

im looking more in the 100 dollar range..

Lol. Good luck.

evo 02 housing, Punishment DP, Thermal catback = The best bang for buck, reliabilty, and a cheaper alternative for a decent sounding exhaust, whilst still maintaining a tasteful performance upgrade.

Keep in mind this cheaper route I stated is still in the $650 range.

You should start searching your local Autozone/ Pep Boys.

I am just sensing a little bit of opposition in the OPs thoughts. He doesn't want a "can" exhaust that sounds like a thousand angry bees, because he doesn't want the ricer stigma and backlash that it comes with.

Yet he doesn't want an exhaust for performance, just to be a little louder and cheap, which is the mentality that a ricer goes into a store and buys an actual fart cannon with. Cheap and not performance oriented will end you in the one place you are so adamant to be against, sounding like a thousand angry bees.

Maybe just needs a decent muffler welded in place of his current one. Sounds cheapest route to me for him to get a better sound with minimal performance gains. Or get a catback from the vendors. Sure not the cheapest, but cheaper than doing all the exhaust. Megan sounds pretty good for the price. but that is more "can" looking than he probably wants.

OP, go buy an inline glass pack if you want to be a little louder, but keep stock appearance.

Beware though, You'll sound like a Contour. Gluuurrrggg glurrrg glurrg gluuuururururggg

All you guys and your non laggy turbos and your nice soundsing exhausts... -_- <---jealous face

Here is the complete exhaust system I run it looks good & sounds good:Forced Performance Racing Exhaust Manifold,S.S.Tubular Recirculated O2 Housing,Borla 2 1/2inch Downpipe,OBX High-Flow 2 1/2inch S.S.Cat,SR-S 3inch S.S. Cat-Back Exhaust.

Can't beat the Thermal or my personal favorite- Greddy Evo2, I love listenin to my exhaust purring behind me.
