I have a 1996 Eagle Talon ESI and would like to change the exaust. As of right now the car is stock. I do not plan on pumping thousands of dollas in to it trying to make it something its not. I was looking at the Greddy Evo 2 Exaust system and was wondering if I would need new headers to go with that. I would also like to know what kind of air intake I could switch my stock intake out with to add some flavor to my car. Thank you for your time and have a good day

when you say plan on pumping thousands of dollars into it, in what directions exactly. staying NA or going turbo will determine your exhaust as well as the fact of if you would even want to waste your money getting a header. Personally i get a good idea the direction you want to take your car, and in the meantime do mods that can work for either NA or boost, like TB/IM, UDP, motor mounts.

I planed on keeping the engine stock or relitively close to stock. I have been reading about adding a turbo and I have read that it is a lot of trouble espicaly on the ESI. I am looking to buy a turboed Eclipse or Talon. I wanted to do some Minor things like Heads, Exaust, and Intake to get a few horse but nothing to exorbant. Because like I said im looking for another toy. The few parts I get wont make much of a difference but I still wanna keep the Esi for a daily driver.

you said you don't want to spend a lot of money on the car but you want to purchase an exhaust thats close to 600 dollars and will give you less then 2 hp. go ebay for a lot less money. ebay intake also because on a stock motor your looking at about 2 hp increase. why spend hundreds right?

Do what i did,

Buy an $200 Apexi or $300 HKS Universal Mufflers..

Take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld you up the 2.5' piping..

I bought an Apexi and had them weld up 3' piping for a total of $300

yeah sorry i misread that, i didn't see the "not" in the do not plan on spending money. Anyways diamondrev is right, exhausts don't add much hp at all with just minor mods. I'd stick to basic eBay products. You can get a decent full exhaust(headers/catback) for around 150 and a intake for around $50 if you look hard enough that should keep ya under 200 till ya find the car you really want.

I paid $180 for my exhaust shipped to my door from eBay, about $25 shipped for my intake, then around $30 for the K&N cone filter.

For what you're looking to get out of the car, I'd concur with these guys and recommend eBay products.
