i am looking online at exhaust systems. in some of the descriptions it says "fwd" and in others it says "awd". would the "awd" still be compatible on a fwd car?

They are different configurations. FWD doesn't need to avoid the rear axle configuration. If you on a budget many people have done an impressive system for like 300-400. But it takes some fabrication. I just got a beginners kit from JNZ tuning and picked the 3" Megan's racing cat back along with a walbro 255AWD and auto meter boost gauge all for like 550ish I got more stuff like an air fuel pressure regulator too. Anyway good luck.
i know the basics about auto mechanics. no knowledge about dsm though at all
