exhaust question - turbo

so i got my turbo all set up and im about to have my downpipe installed and i started wondering about this hole below the outlet. the flange i have is solid and will cover that hole, was just wondering if thats okay to cover it with the flange and what IS THAT HOLE FOR? heres some pics. thankssssss

anyone?

does it matter if my flange covers that little hole below the exhaust outlet? what is that for? my flange is solid and has no opening for that hole. please help!

The small hole on the bottom is not to worry about. It was on my stock turbo when it came off and its fine. i cant help but notice, that kinda looks like an eBay turbo. please tell me its not? thats a little sketch if it is.

You don't need two threads on the same topic.

It's a wastegate hole on your Chinese turbo, meant for a swing valve on the downpipe adapter. You are not using an internal wastegate.

Yeah, I made a rookie mistake and bought a eBay turbo thinking its a great deal and ended up blowing it and rebuilding the old 16g. Stick with the Mitsubishi turbos.

Exactly..I can tell you first hand that's an amlost to the T of ebay turbo's..
