Exhaust manifold crack

i have a pretty good size crack in the top of my exht mani right in between the turbo bolts. i can even feel air coming out of it, and some steam on cold starts.
i was just wondering what kind of sympotoms my car would be having because of this? when i get on the gas the car kind of stutters.

just wondering if this is why, and what other foul syptoms my car will be having. and how long will it be ok for me to drive on it.

If you have a cracked exhaust manifold, Instead of the exhaust gases going and spinning your turbo, They are now exiting the manifold through the crack and not getting all to your turbo.. I'm sure your car would be slower.

If i were you I'd check everything around it to make sure the exhaust gases aren't blowing nasty stuff all over down there. I had a crack in my manifold and it ended up ruining my alternator. but other than that, it erally just kinda ruins performance just like 1993eclipseGS said.

Anything in the area of the leaking exhaust that doesn't like to be 900°F may suffer for it. And nothing likes the corrosive, acidic gas.

Oh, and the carbon monoxide doesn't do a lot for your health, either.

Replace it.

yea i have a new one, i am just wondering what will happen in the mean time.
i wont be able to change it for a couple weeks at least, cuz i am at school.

You will probably be building up some exhaust backpressure, meaning your car will stutter like you mentioned. I would recommend replacing it ASAP. It is possible that the 02 sensor will read a bigger oxygen reading than normal and ends up telling the ecu that the engine is running lean. In this case the ECU will make the injectors fire longer and you will end up running a little richer than normal. This is if the crack is big enough to let air in it though.
