i have a 90 tsi awd with a 20g and all supporting mods. when i get on the gas the car gets about 4000rpms my exhuast gets really loud and makes a ratteling noise and the car starts to lose a little power. it seems like im reving the car up to about 7 or 8 grand. i just had the water pump, and timing belt changed. plz help me if you can.

balance shafts are out of phase....take it back to the people who did it and have them redo it.....or do it yourself, its easy.
 
Yep. Actually, oil pump sprocket not set right (with or without balance shafts) will do it as well.

That's what ths issue was with mine, which has no BS.
