Alright for the past hour i've been looking through the forums on this. I want to get an RNR exhaust but i'm torn on which size to get. I would like to get a Full 3" turboback with cat. 650 for that or 600 for the 2.5 isnt a bad deal at all for a full exhaust. The thing is i wanna know how loud it's going to be on the car. I dont want rice, i was lookin for this also but not too sure. I dunno if i plan on upgradin the turbo yet, but it would be nice to have an big16G or 20G in hehehehe Right now i only have a MBC and intake in so far. I ordered my gauges and i plan on getting my fuel pump as soon as i get the exhaust. What do u all think? I tried contacting RNR but i havent gotten a response yet. Oh yea plus i want something that is going to pass emissions b/c i live in NJ. =/ :barf:

For all the IGNORANT newbies who think BACKPRESSURE is good please look here.....BTW it is in the ADVANCED tuner forum so i doubt any of you will understand the language.

PS: good analogy Puller

thanks, but ray actually should have gained a ton of understanding from all this quibble. If he looked at the links provided by some, they show articles reflecting great understanding of mainly backpressure as well exhaust-flow principles, not too mention they're very well written. Aside from the cumbersome argument which this post has bled Ray, i'd say look at all these posts, and look at all the supporting evidence because there is enough to tell which exhaust to get. Don't bother messing with any manufacturer unless you personally know someone there, as they will just say by the most expensive one, in essence.

I decided 3" is what i want to get. The thing is i'm trying to get ahold of RNR to see if they put resonators in their exhaust. Stupid NJ has the emissions garbage and i want to be able to pass.

I know you said you've already made your decision, but I thought I would chime in anyway...

I actually suggest going with a 2.5" exhaust if noise is a concern of yours. My daily driver has a 2.5" exhaust, and I drive at 80 on the highway (Traffic permitting). A lot of 3" exhaust system drone at speeds like that. Every time someone who knows a thing or two about cars rides in my car, they are surprised by how quiet it is with an aftermarket exhaust system.

If you are sure that you want a 20G, then 2.5" will definitely hold you back. However, I doubt 2.5" is going to hold you back too badly on a 16G unless you really want to push it hard. I asked the same question a long time ago, to see if it was worth upgrading to 3". Most people said that 2.5" was good to get deep into the 12s. If you aspire for more speed than that, better play it safe and go 3"

All i know is thst my friend has a 3" turbo back apex'i n-1 exhaust and he pulled on me hard after first gear, and all i have is intake. (both gs-t's)

i will tell you this much i un bolted my exaust from the o2 housing so it was completly open and my car was soooooooooooo much faster it was amazing so if that doesnt prove that a 3" is better even on a stock car i dont know what will.

forgot to mention that from what I heard RS-R is coming back and they make the quietest exhaust systems. I'm Pretty sure you can get a 3" turbo back
