Ok im sure theres alot of threads about this but i think i know what i want i just dont want there to be something im not seeing. Ok first the exhaust i want is Apex'i N1 turbo back from Welcome To Extreme PSI and EVO III Manifold. my cars all stock this is the best spot to start i thought my next ideas are gm MAF and MAFT, intake pipe, new O2 Sensor Housing, O2 Sensor. just kinda wanna know if im looking the right way or if theres something else i should do first.

after you go through that list and check the classified's there are always part outs in there.

I would do the stage one upgrade and not worry about the gm maf and and translater until later on just my opinion.

maybe try to pick up a 2g maf instead of jumping straight to the gm maf and maft... the 2g maf flows alot better than the stock 1g

after doing 2g MAF and the new pipe do i need to have car tuned?

I don't understand why you are replacing the MAF already, it is good to 400hp. Just like previously stated follow the tech articles. My first mods were making the car breath better with an Air Intake, complete exhaust system (Including manifold), and ic piping & bov or fmic if your goals are to go that route and go from there.

your first mods shouldn't be mods at all, they should be doing basic maintenance to your DSM. timing belt, accesory belts, battery, etc... etc... don't do what i did and ignore it because when you start modifying your car these things start going faster than they normally would have. maintenance 1st performance 2nd. :thumb:

^ I figured that was a given. But YES do preventative maintnance first as stated above. Make sure to flush your fluids (T-case, Rear-diff, Tranny, Clutch, Brakes, & Radiator) as well as what is listed above.

Yeah, so putting in a 2g mas will let it breath better! 1g mas is more restrictive than a 2g mas...

It breaths better, but if he is planning on running a GMMAFT a little later down the road like he was so adiment about, than why buy a 2G Mas and then replace the 2G Mas with the GMMAFT? If you don't plan to do the GM setup than while replacing the intake, go ahead and do the 2G Mas while you're at it. It all depends on the goals that you have in mind.

you'd be surprised... :ohdamn:

a 2g mas flows just as well as a GM MAFT, its just the abilitly to vent your bov thats the +1 isn't it? i didn't realize you could actually benefit from running a GM setup other than that.

The GM MAFT can be used for tuning as well, and no the 2G MAS does not flow near as well as the GM MAS. The 1G flows great till about 300hp, the 2g till about 450hp, and the GM MAFT is good for over 700hp. Another popular move if you do not want to go the GM route, is the Evo MAS. It is good for up to 600hp. People have started using the evo MAS because the GM MAFT is so sensitive to weather conditions. I have seen how difficult the GM setup can be.

BTW: GM setup is best used as a piggyback tuning device, not standalone unless you are very experienced with tuning.

i did all maintenance. and reading what u are all talking about i might not go to gm MAS i only plan on about 400hp and i dont care about venting my bov. anything 450+hp i would think would be kinda high for street driving =P
