New to dsmforums, I have a 1997 eagle talon non turbo. I've had it for almost 6 Years basically stock until today. I finally had money to upgrade it and installed a short ram intake. LOVE IT. I was a bit disappointed finding out what a turbo kit could do to my engine since I was almost going to buy a T3/T4 kit for my talon. May have to get it upgraded piece by piece. I love my car it was my first after all.

Sorry to be the one to tell you but nearly everyone on here will agree you're way way better off selling your NT and buying a 2g turbo DSM (like a GST/GSX) to get the turbo, than adding a turbo to your NT (due to the high cost, time, and effort of all the things you'd have to change). You also then get the Mitsubishi engine which is way better than the Chysler and more upgradeable (thousands of upgrade articles and aftermarket upgrade parts).

So I've been told. For the sake of the argument let's just say Im stubborn I have the time and eventually the money. Would it not be better to just swap out the engine or rebuild the current engine?

for the sake of argument- just swap a fully built LSx in it and do the rwd conversion with autoglide trans...

but seriously, sell it and buy a Gs-t or gs-x to get a turbo.. dont waste your time or money turboing the 420a. you could swap in a 4g63 but depending on your technical ability, you'll have to rewire harnesses, add sensors, swap ecu, and swap some parts that are hard to find. plus you're probably going to pay $800 for the good condition short block or $1200 for a long block that needs some work. plus rebuild parts. so you're looking at 2k just to get the motor in and running(you can find a 2g Gs-t complete car for ~2500)

sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear.

No need for apologies. I think I'm planning on keeping the talon and upgrading as much without turbo charging. Might look into buying something else to make my project turbo car
