I've searched around and can't find anything on this. I'm not sure it'll fit mainly for the suspension issues, but will a comp. turbo-back exhaust for an evo (2003-2007) fit my spyder GST? I don't really know much about the 4G63, I just traded my 420a 95 Eclipse GS for this 97 Spyder GST. (No, it's not wrecked. It's actually in near-mint condition, just some minor things here and there with the interior.)

Any input would be great. I don't necessarily need the evo exhaust, I just want a clean turbo-back exhaust that runs straight through, no cat, 3" piping. I like the sound of GReddy ### I had a GReddy EVO2 exhaust on my GS and this Spyder is stock and I miss the sound (but love the increase in speed).

Thanks

That's sorta like asking if the exhaust from a '08 Dodge Caravan will fit on a '96 Chrysler Sebring. You could MAKE it fit, but it won't be clean.

Your best bet is to buy something like a Megan Racing 3" exhaust. The downpipe is cat-delete, and there is one small resonator. The sound is deep and throaty, the welds are perfect, and it won't sound like crap.

I have an RS with an unknown brand of exhaust (the kid apparently forgot what it was called that I bought it from), it has a cat delete and it's loud as hell, but it makes the fart sound more than anything. I don't really care about loud, I just want something that flows nicely since I plan on upgrading the turbo and modding the engine to reach ~ 450hp, and something that sounds clean with a low grumble like my GReddy had. Will the MR sound anything close to the GReddy in terms of being smooth?

Yes. The biggest difference between the "fart sound" that your RS with an unknown exhaust makes and a decent exhaust on a turbocharged model is the turbocharger itself. Any turbo motor will sound deeper and smoother than a non-turbo engine.

Boxx -- thanks for the information, I'll take it into consideration. I've also heard good things about Apexi exhaust, generally the N1 and the GT spec. Do you have any opinion on those?

everyone else -- I said it does NOT have to be the evo exhaust, I was giving an example of what I wanted -- a turbo-back exhaust, 80mm, with a good flow and nice deep, smooth sound.

Any 3" exhaust will give you good flow for your power goals and a good deep sound. The Apexi exhaust is fine, but after seeing comparison pics in the giant MR exhaust thread, the MR exhaust is a definite geometry improvement over the Apexi. Less bends, SS finish, and cat-delete are all positive aspects. The MR is also a ton cheaper. I couldn't be happier with mine.

One last quick question... anyone have a direct link to the MR 3" system w/ cat delete? I've been to punishmentracing and a few other sites and can't find it. Only thing I'm finding is cat-back. I found on another site megan racing's cat-delete pipe, but I'm looking for the complete system together.

Yeah it's the turbo 4G63. From what I've read on other topics, this exhaust should work since the undercarriage is virtually the same as the GST. I'll give them a call on your advice anyways, and thanks again for the help.
