So..

I want to get some where in the 13's and if im lucky hit a 12 something 1/4 mile.

So the deal is... I can buy a t3/t4 for 350$ brand new from a great friend i've known like all my life here OR i could spend the same amount of money and get the EvoIII big16g. Which one would get me the best results for getting near that 1/4 mile area.

I have about 1400$ to spend here by june. This will need to get me turbo + accesories ( fuel / FMIC piping / labor / other things i would need )

Stuff i have waiting to go on:

(dont know demension) but a nice brand new spearco FMIC Quite large too
Stainless Steal Down pipe
HKS SSQV bov
1g Throttle Body

to hit 13's you don't need an 16g or an hybrid. 14b is capable of hitting 12's easily.
my best time so far was 13.5 at 106 this was on a 14b at 20 pounds and 109 race gas. "street tires fwd too"

but if you still in that route. i would sugest an 16g . 1st direct bolt on, and no need for other things such as downpipe, exh manifold.......

just my 02's

Im goign to ask my friend whats inside of that t3/t4 here soon.

But i was going to add that... If i got a big 16g from www.turbochargers.com.. well the wh ole kit for 700$ that woulda be a bad price at all imo... Plus what i was thinking is that i wouldnt have to go with a 255lph walbro and i could go with a 190? and 550cc injectors?

But if i went with the t3/t4 i would have to 255lph it and i would have to do like 650cc+ injectors i would have to get a waste gate.. new exhaust mani... new o2 housing... and im guessin ###### bigger intake mani and larger head to fit that... that one seems like alot more money and alot more work...

Plus if i got the big 16g it sounds more of a street car turbo too then the t3/t4 :) so id always have that option too

Please check your grammer first, thank you. That whole kit for the MHI 16G is a pretty good deal, and it will help you along the way to the 13s that you would like to see, but like someone else said you can make the 12s like Arctic Racings 91 Talon on a 14B, but not necessarily easily like he said. 550s and a wally 190 will be a good start, and for the t3/t4 you dont need the wally 255, you wouldnt need a bigger intake mani, probably a hard intake pipe like a dejon tool with a K&N filter, and just so you know the head doesnt get bigger because you get a bigger IM like a Magnus, its the TB that is wider. The 650s for the t3/t4 wouldn't hurt, but they would definately call for a logger to tune it in, such as a DSMLink. The t3/t4 is just as much a street turbo as the 16G but pushes a bit more power. Your best bet is to go with the MHI Evo 3 16G kit for 700$, wally 190, 550s, a FMIC, hard IP with filter and get it tuned by a shop. With that say bye to the 1600$ or a bit more if your not mechanicly inclinded to do it yourself with exception of the tuning. So n short the t3/t4 might be the "same" cost through your friend as the 16G but the supporting mods will push you over your budget. Good luck with your decission(sp?).

What housing's and what wheels are in the T3/T4?
Correct me if Im wrong but its the T3 wheel and the T4 Compressor housing...or is that not what your talking about, LOL, long day already.

12's on an evoIII, no problem in an awd but he is fwd. If you want 12's you'll need to add an lsd or slicks to your shopping list. Also are you looking at the real MHI evoIII from turbo chargers.com or their GT version, just so you know the GT isn't made by MHI is a knock off. Some think their great, some think their junk. Do some research and make up your own mind, just making sure your getting what you think your getting.

With a EVO3 you really dont need to have a front mount, but it will def help. Im going to be getting a larger sidemount and using meth in the future.

You need a set of slicks or some good Drag radials there no way around that, and a LSD would help you out so much and its worth the money.

There is a insert you can buy so the car gets better traction but its still not as good as a LSD.

Take it from me, open LSD + street tires = shitty passes at the track (15.1 @ 107, 14.2 @ 110). This is done on my BB50. From observation, getting into the 12's with FWD will require LSD,drags, good driving, and enough power to trap 109+. If you don't have a combination of all of these things, 12's are very difficult to attain.

Thanks guys for all the imput i believe im just going to go with the evoIII turbo instead now and ###### move on to LSD and slicks soon after :)

And by the way i know the FMIC isnt needed but i already got quite a large one waiting to go on so...

Oh and about the tuning.. Its free from a guy pretty much from Archer Racing up here in duluth.

Ok well it sounds like you know what you want to do. As for the LSD dont go with the inserts, get true LSD, and if this car is your DD and you drive it on the street and only go to the track once a month, then I personaly would go with Quaife LSD, but if youdont really drive it on the street much then KAAZ is the way to go. Also do you have the FMIC already? If so get the MHI Evo 3 and throw em both on, and with the free tuning...good catch:). Oh yeah If you end up doing LSD dont worry yourself about getting slicks, your not making enough power to truely notice them, as aposed to a set of falken azenis 615s, or other like wise soft rated compound tires, but if you have "commuted" tires like the normal cars, then switch to soft rubber tires, they may wear quicker but they definately help with traction.
