I just bought a 96 GST with a HUGE t3/t4 in it. too big actually. I hit full boost at around 5000rpm. not good.

So, knowing that everything on the car is built for a T3/T4, what would everyone here suggest? getting a dual ballbearing t3/t4 that would spool up faster, and not have the lag I have now between shifts, or rip everything out, go back to almost stock (or something like EVOIII manifold...) and stick a 20g in there.

My goals are a car that can easily take a C5 corvette, at least a low 12 second car with at least 380 whp.

Any help, any at all would be great.

The dual ball bearing turbo might be a good choice, 5000 is a hell of a long time to wait for full boost.

I know. The car was built for bragging rights. thats it. I only bought it instead of an unmodded one because he had put 3k into suspension and god knows how much into the interior. also pistons, rods... so it was a head start.

I probably will just swap out this POC turbo for a D-BB one. and if it isnt what I want then I will rip everything out and try a 20g. Any other suggestions?

Thats true. Easily. I want to fly by those things so fast they piss their pants. That almost happened with our RSX before we crashed it.

50 trim t3/04e with .63ar? really? Then I may just as well do some research now. Thank you for these exact specs.

No, I have no reason to keep buying turbos, but if I swap in another t3/t4 and dont like it, I will have to rip everything out and start again. I'm really picky. Thats why the RSX was supercharged. boost off the bat.

a 3 inch exhaust and ported 02 will help with spool times.

what supercharger did you have on the rsx, and how much hp and tq was it making?

I believe I saw your RSX after the crash from a loacl DSMr. Looked bad, hope your OK.

We need info on your car or we cant help you. There are so many different T3/T4 variants that we could write a book. If you can find the person that built your car and ask them what the specs on the turbo are then we can help you find a better match. You may be able to have AGP take the T3/T4 you have now and put a different wheels in so you can keep your setup but get the characterisitics you want.

That doesn't really help for a daily driver...

That is a matter of opinion seeing as I still consider the gt35r fun to daily drive with a 1.06 AR exhaust housing. The bottle is there if really needed. Other than that people enjoy jumping you for a second then you fly by them. Makes for some nice expressions on peoples faces.

I have a few questions:

Is the T3/T4 internally or externally gated?

What size O2 housing/ Exhaust system?

Is the Exhaust Manifold ported?

What size fmic is used?

What boost controller is being used? Manual or Electronic?

I don't have a T3/T4, but a fully ported exhaust manifold, an internally gated T3/T4, fully ported EVO VIII O2 housing, Hallman MBC, a full 3 inch exhaust system can decrease full boost time from 5k to 3K-4k rpm.
Do you guys agree?

I would keep the T3/T4 and perform the mods listed above to get full boost at around an acceptable 3500 rpm. At 5k if you are putting 380whp to the ground you can whop a ZO6 like mike tyson.

More info is needed. Knowing exactly what your supporting mods are would be a start. IE Fuel Control, Injector size, fuel pump/fpr?, what exhaust, cams?, intake mani, exhaust mani, and the specs on that turbo... Another thing is either that ####er is really big, the setup that guy has was poorly though out, or you have a leak somewhere. Id find out exactly whats going on with your car before you go buy a new turbo. It could be something as simple as a exhaust leak or improper tuning as to why your seeing such a late spool.

That being said, if the car is setup right and it is the turbo that needs to be changed the 50Trim .63ar is very popular, FP Green is a long time dominant turbo, if you wanted something bigger (which frankly is better in a FWD IMO) could go with a SCM60, gt35r, FP Red, or the FP 30 seriers

5k? WHOA..... you might want to send it to AGP or even just get a new t3/t4 setup.... that lag seems hella high....

Edit: it might not have been tuned yet? if a car is well tuned then the turbo should spool a little lower.

Ok. We found the problems (yes, more than one)

The car was VERY poorly thought out. nothing proted, a mismatched turbo, and a leak. That all with the fact that it was VERY poorly tuned.

So what have I been up to to fix said problems?

I got a GT30 dual BB turbo, EVERYTHING is being checked out, ported, and polished. New pistons and a head job. Also new Unorthodox components, HKS cams, and if need be I'll hit a 35 shot of N2O into the intercooler.

The RSX has a Jackson Racing Supercharger. At 7psi it was running high 12s. We were going to be the 1st RSX in AZ with the JR intercooler. It was fun outrunning C5s in that little Honda. You probably have seen pictures of the crash since every shop around here has at least one picture of the crash. Apex in Tempe has a whole roll of film with about 20 pictures of the damn thing.

Thank you all for your input. I will be busy with the go mods, then the show mods (the exterior needs ALOT of work) plus it doesnt have a stereo. It's a real fixer upper.

Another question. 550 cc injectors. Big enough?

from what I understand 550 injectors will not be good enough... they will work but not if u want all out racing.
