Sorry I haven't posted this sooner, we have been busy, Jim got married, Military owning me, yadda yadda. LOL

The calipers and rotors came off of an 03 Evo8, had to get the steering knuckles from overseas, got them from mitsumissile on this forum. All I can say is WOW!!!! before, I had to sometimes pull off to the shoulder to avoid running into people. Now, it's effortless. I have been debating on which big brake kit to go with, fortunately, these calipers/rotors fell into my lap. :D Even if you buy the calipers, this can be done for less than half of what a major brand would cost, all 4, not just the front. The rears are direct bolt on, just need to trim the dust shield. The fronts are direct bolt on with the new knuckles, I removed the dust shield. All in all, I am satisfied 110%!!! Here are some pics:

So finally, I know you can answer this question for sure. What was the total cost of this conversion? Including shipping cost of the knuckles, and also if you had to buy new pads for the calipers.

I can get my own knuckles, and the calipers are available through the usual sources (ebay, SoCalEVo, EVO M, etc.). I take it the part numbers for the knuckles are on another EVO8 brake thread on here, right? I keep getting bugged by some people to do this brake conversion to my car, but keep wanting the stoptechs instead. How good are these after HARD driving on our cars?

All that aside they look damn good. They should've come OEM on our cars also.

I do not believe it can be done on the 1G's due to the knuckles, totally different shock set up.

mitsumissile, he is on here, you can pm him about pricing to you. I paid 540 for the knuckles, shipped, I am in NJ. DHL 2-3 day service. I paid on monday, installed them friday night. Very easy to communicate and he is very prompt. The calipers I got already had EBC Green pads on them, I sent the rotors to get the rust machined off and threw them on. Total cost depends on how much you pay for the calipers. As I said before, I can't stress enough, I used to have to pull off to the shoulder when braking real hard, now it is effortless! Just think you will spend about 1800 to 2K or more for the other brands (front and rear). They hold up very well after running hard, so you should have no worries. Hope that helps. Thanks for the kind words!!!

Looks amazing. Really does. Props to you man, I wish I had the money to do this right now. Was it a pretty straight forward install, do they just bolt right up?

Why would you spend a grand on all this when you can buy some slotted rotors, performance pads, and SS lines and stop just as good as any EVO for half the price?

If you can get the calipers and rotors, front and rear for 400, like the set on ebay, the knuckles for another 500 or so, you have 900 into a $2K plus set up. The rears are direct bolt on, just a little trimming of the dust shield.

Never seen anyone do that.

Just a little FYI, this has been done before and can be seen here. :)

BTW if the OP could find the time to do a write-up I know many people would appreciate it. :thumb:

Just a few questions concerning the setup:

1) Did the knuckles alter the wheel position (offset change)?
2) What hub do the new knuckles require?
3) What wheel and size are shown in the picture?
4) Did the standard 2G brake lines adapt onto the EVO caliper?

No they did not alter wheel position
new knuckle uses your existing wheel hub/control arms, direct bolt on.
