I know the evo pistons sit lower in the block correct? But my question is how much lower do they sit?

The evo pistons are like 2g pistons you put them in backwards so the arrows are facing the rear of the engine I believe. you have to have the 1g rod machined as if you were using 2g pistons. dsm graveyard has some info on this swap or you can google too. If you work at a machine shop or have a close friend that does and can get it done for free or EXTREMELY cheap than its worth it, but when I had 2g pistons on my 1g rods in 2002 it was about $180 for getting the pistons fitted to the rods. With the cost of new rings and oversized pistons it just makes sense to buy rods and save up for forged pistons. Just my opinion. So in a 2.0 liter engine the evo pistons share the same bore and stroke as our engines just a higher compression ratio and larger wrist pin diameter. the wrist pin is in the same location as stock so they do not sit any higher or lower technically. But again google may yield more accurate information.
