ok wats stronger evo 8 rods or 6 bolt rods

i am buying evo 8 rods and pistons and what do i need to do to make it work

or should i just take my rods and put the evo pistons on them??

need help with this one :thumb:

Haven't researched the rods, but the pistons are a very close match to the 2g 7 bolt stockers.

why waste your time on it, EVO pistons are $312 MSRP + dealer markup. Rings are another $50 msrp + dealer markup. Rods MSRP $436 + dealer markup. For that cost might as well go Eagle+Wiseco.

So it would'nt be practical in either cost, or durability becuase if the evo postons aren't any stronger, its still casted. The rods are most likely weaker than the 6bolt rods and more euivalent to stock 7bolt rods.

I did the research because my buddy found a guy selling a set of brand new takeoffs from an Evo 8 shortblock (Rods, Pistons, Rings, Rod Bearings, Main Bearings) for $300 shipped.

We looked for quite a while, and we couldn't find new 8.8:1 pistons with forged rods for anywere near that price. Not everyone shops at their local dealer!

i have a 6 bolt swaped it to that 99 gsx ok im getting evo 8 pistons rods and pistons for 100 bones ok i want to put them in the 6 bolt. which rods are stronger the 6 bolt stock or the evo rods.:dsm:
