evo heads on a 96 gst

im about to start work on another gst for my fiance. i have 6 bolt heads on my current setup but was wondering if i could bolt a set of evo heads on the stock 7 bolt, im not looking for a 12 second car out of this one, just a good everyday driver any help would be appreciated

I dont think so. The evo has a reversed flow from our engines and Im pretty sure they wont bolt up. If they did, you would hear of more people using them.

thanks ive never worked on an evo, i knew there were differences but i knew there were alot of similarities also i guess ill start roving junkyards for a 1g turbo head, or just port the 7 bolt a little since it is just a daily driver

Definitely go 1g if you can. In virgin bolt on form, they are superior, flow-wise, especially on the intake side. But keep your 2g exhaust mani.

Yes the 1g head has larger ports for potentially better high rpm flow. the 2g has a very nice valve angle and are plenty capable of power. The evo head has similar port shape to 2g and im sure they did that for some reason

How many heads are you planning on bolting to an inline 4 cylinder? We have one head per engine.

As far as Evo, you'll have to be more specific. A few of the Evo's have similar engine setups as the USDM 4g63's. The later ones have reversed engines.

i have two gst's mine with 1g heads and one that im building for my fiance, i just wasnt positive about the evos heads , my second gst has bent valves thats why i was wondering

Like MrBoxx said: one head, not heads. These aren't V6s or V8s.

Also like MrBoxx said, earlier Evos had similar heads to our DSMs. Later models have the flipped motor, which that head wouldn't work.
