Will an evo 8 turbo fit a 1g car without to much modification? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine has one that he wants to trade me for a set of stock injectors.

ehh have you seen the turbo its is NOTHING like our turbo. Besides the point that it is facing the wrong direction; it has a twin scroll turbine housing that measures 10cm^2. The EVO 4G63 and DSM 4G63 are two COMPLETELY different motors. :dsm:

which part is facing the wrong direction? If it's just a matter of changing the ic pipes, that isn't a problem because I am changing them anyway. Any more info would be great. Thanks

Look at your engine bay. Then look at your power steering pump and alternator. This is basically where the compressor of the turbo will be sitting if you decide to go with that turbo on your car. You can take your powersteering pump off completely and use a Buschur Racing alternator relocation kit; that 'might' make it possible to put the turbo in. Keep in mind that you will have to rewire the mas sensor plug to reach the new location as well as fab up a new intake pipe and downpipe. You are better off getting an Evo3 16G as it is basically the same turbo and it BOLTS right in!

You could always use a alternator relocator from buschur and it would allow the turbi to fit as it does in the Evo 8 but I think you lose your A/C. Pluss its a lot of hassle for just a 16G.

Yeah I think I'm going to do what 92awddsm said, sell the turbo on ebay. Thanks for all of the info guys,

Trade the stock injectors for it, sell it on ebay, and put that $ towards an evoIII16g.

Edit: I just read your mod list. Why would you want a 16g?

Cause anyone who would ask this question is very good at copy and paste.

That's the flange for the evo turbo. It's a reversed twin scroll. The evo 4g63 is still a 4g63, but beyond the head and manifold (which still have considerable differences) not much else is remotely swappable.
