Evo 3 oil filter housing ports for oil temp and oil pressure gauge?

Hey all,

I have an evo 3 oil filter housing and wantd to run oil temp and oil pressure gauge. Any idea which ports on the evo3 oil filter housing are safe to run the oil pressure gauge and oil temp gauge? Dont want to have to much pressure and damage the oil pressure gauge.

I know beside the oil dummy light there is a port you can use but is it safe there, and good for which gauge? I noticed on the outer cast there is an "L" , does the "L" mean low pressure ( if so how much flow is there)? someone also suggested the oil flowing there maybe oil from the filter, good for possibly oil pressure gauge? Lastly theres one more port as seen in this thread on the lower end is that good for perhaps oil temp?

The sensor should be install 0n the other side of the housing,
There is a little bottle figure, (that's your stock oil pressure sensor).
Install your pressure sensor in that port, and install your Temperature sensor at the oil Pan.

If your oil pressure is high enough to ruin a gauge, you have bigger problems then a broken gauge.

Unfortunately i have my fumoto valve at the oil pan, i know itwould be best to put oil to put oil temp there but i dont like wires close to the ground either

How high is the pressure pumped from the oil pump? One port is from oil pump and the other is port is going to the oil cooler.

I may just give up and get a oil sandwich block adaptor but even that is unfavorable because it pushes the oil filter closer to the downpipe

It depends on how high you rev. you engine.
It can go over 100psi.

The stock oil light port for the temp and were I have my sensor for the press.
The one guy linked a pic of my ofh off my evo that is all you need to do

I wouldn't recommend to put your Pressure gauge sensor on the Oil Light sensor port,
It is better to put it on your stock Oil Pressure Sensor. which you don't need it any more.
If something wrong happens to your oil pressure, both of the pressure sensors will be off, and you will not know what's going on.

But, If you put it on the Stock Oil Pressure Sensor Post, Then when you see that you have no pressure, There is a back up Light which tells you if you have oil.

One shows (OIL PRESSURE). and the other shows (Just OIL).

I dont believe our cars came with a stock oil pressure sensor only an oil light sensor was available

Picked up a oil sandwich block adapter and going to go that route... Not sure if i have clearance but if that doesnt work ill try using one of the ofh ports

The evo 3 OFH. has the same Hole like the 1g's.
