I am looking into buying a 1998GSX with 124,000 miles for $8000. All the car has is an hks cat-back and an hks evc. Now i did a little research on the evc and the one in the car looks a little old and the installation looks kinda crappy. Would i be able to remove this from the car and have it not hurt the performance or running characteristics or do i have to leave it in for the car to run right? i also don't like the idea of electronic boost controllers so i'd prefer not to have it.

Normally i'd try and talk them down but the brakes were just done and turbo rebuilt 5,000 miles ago. and the engine and transmission were both rebuilt by a dsm specialist around 10,000 miles ago. i just wanna know about the evc, can i take out the one that they put in and have it not affect the car? i don't like or really trust electronic boost controllers, and i've already bought the car now so i just need to know about the evc. thanks.
