Hello I have 1997 eclipse gsx and removed my evap canister in the engine. I want to remove sensors as well is that ok and not have them plugged in. Also, what needs to be capped since I removed the canister for the vacuum

Thank you

I was just about to update my thread on this, but basically you can remove all the vacuum lines and charcoal canister, but make sure you leave the EVAP/EGR solenoids on your firewall and just have the electrical connections plugged in. Otherwise it will throw CEL codes P0403 and P0443. When you remove the charcoal canister hoses, there is one that goes to the stock intake pipe (pre-turbo). Make sure to cap that off with something as it's after the MAF so it will screw the Air metering.

If you really want to remove the sensors you will have to deal with a check engine light, unless you have ECMLink, then you can manually switch them off. Otherwise just move those solenoids somewhere else out of sight.

Thanks I think I'm going to remove sensor since I have Dsmlink and don't have to worry about check engine lights. Also do you by any chance have a pic since I already took my canister out to see which one you are talking about.

Thanks

Hey I have a new forced performance intake pipe that has no vacuum spot so is that what you were saying to block only if you have the stock intake

Thanks

Why yes I do. Here's a pic I took after removing all of that (big black charcoal canister and a smaller one hooked up to it). Much more free space (note that the battery is also removed for the deinstallation).

And here's a picture of those canisters themselves (credit to another user from Tuners):

Also yes if you have an aftermarket intake pipe you shouldn't have to worry about it.
