I did Evap delete about 10 years ago and recently I start having excess pressure in the gas tank, so much pressure that when I open the gas cap fuel is overflowing.

I was thinking that safety valve on the gas tank is bad so I did replace it, but this didn't fix my problem and I found out that my check valve is bad.

My question is, can I run the car without this valve? Or can I change it with some regular one way valve?

That gray check valve is required so that air or dirt is not sucked into the fuel tank. If you can't source the same valve, try to find an aftermarket one in similar size and spring pressure. You would definitely be better off having a check valve than just not running one.

Is yours stuck or can you blow through it in both directions? Sometimes you can just spray carb cleaner in there and blow it out with compressed air. Alternatively you can cut and separate it at that seam, clean it, then glue it back together. But honestly I think you should be able to either find a replacement OEM part or something very close from another Mitsu or car altogether. Just show it to your parts store clerk and ask for generic emissions-related air/fuel...
