ok so i went to autovalue, gave them my car make, model, and submodel for a coolant temp sensor... the old one was reading warm at all times and it was having a problem starting cold... so the guy gave me the part and i put it on.... now it wont start at all? i mean even with this un plugged shouldnt it still start? it like starts and sputters ot instantly... what can i do here?

it also screwed in kind of hard after the first 2 turns....

Your 2g has two coolant temp. sensors, one sends a signal to the gauge and the other sends the signal to the ECU. Which one did you replace?

The sensor for the gauge has (1) pin on the back and the sensor for the ECU has (2) pins on the back of it.

:dsm:

it has 2 wires but when i disconnected the old one i turned the key and the gauge went down...

i am just going to put the old one back in if i can... but in case the thermostat housing is stripped what are parts and labor cost for the new thermostat and housing and the temp sensor?
