After this deployment I am buying ecmlink v3 and garret or sbr turbo capable of 600hp, well when I bought the car the engine was not so good, so I replaced it well it runs good and it works but when I started it for the first time ever I had royal purple sythetic oil in it. Not engine break in oil:rolleyes: yes I know thats not right but the guy helping me do the setup said dont worry about it? since it was my first engine replacment it didnt concern me beacuse i didnt know. WEll long story short it doesnt burn oil on start but when i stop and then go it pushes out some blue smoke. I might have to put in a quart of oil in once every 2-3 weeks when I was home driveing it every day before I left on deployment, well I found out online things might not of worn in correctly it has 600 miles on it with royal purple and they said Put in some break in engine oil in, run it for and hour and it might help? will it? and will this problem stop me from getting to 500hp and will it cause the engine to break sooner or give out? I always do tune ups so keep that in mind! thanks

A nondetergent oil is best used for breakin, you should use conventional oil like castrol, valvaline, or if theres an O'Reilly or Autozone around, run there cheap oil. Whom ever built your engine should have aranged the rings in a certain order from the oil rings to top ring, all being stagered at certain locations via the directions from wisco's instructions. They also recommend you file fit the rings to their spec also from there instructions. All this not being performed correctly will lead to engine damage or oil leaking past the rings causing the engine to smoke.
If I were you Id drain the purple and hope for the best. synthetic doesnt allow rings and bearing to seat properly because of its additives. Vfaq has a post somewhere for engine break in periods and how often you should change your oil in that time. With your wastegate un hooked or wired open or I have always run for 1st 100 miles then change oil, run for another 200 then changed again, ran till 500 miles then again, then to 1000 miles and your good to go raising your boost little by little as you drive. Never go from zero to 30 psi in the beggining. hope this helps you.
