engine stalling

4g63T engine stall at idle 95% of the time when the head lights are on and i come to stop it dims and brightens and again if i keep my foot on the gas at idle it does not stall as soon as i take my foot of the pedal it stalls i am wondering if a voltage stabilizer would help any ideas???

Sounds like shortage somewhere or your alternator going to junk soon... also think of something you have installed/worked on lately... Try to relate something you've done, if not bad battery or alternator...

Almost sounds like an issue with the alternator assembly. When the alternator is driven by the crank it helps to charge the battery, so by giving the car gas at idle, it helps accelerate the alternator. And the dimming and brightening lights sound like a power issue as well. I would investigate the alternator. In this case, a voltage stabilizer would not help you.

sounds like an alternator problem..had that issue as well, get it tested out...

Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should be seeing around 13.5-14.8 volts on a good charging system. Anything less and your alternator is junk.

Oh something just crossed my mind... I had bad ground connection on my alternator and car was stalling as well... But also I was not been able to start the car until I cleaned and reconnected the starter wires... "just a thought"

the most recent thing installed on the car was the transmission the car has in a bigger tranny now which is a W433 the last time the alternator was giving trouble it was the the regular that was bad and was before the tarnny swap

Hm you sure its not something like F4M or F5M? Where did you get that transmission?
