Hey guys just woundering if this happends alot of you.
first when i start my car up it will have like a bad knocking noise on the right side of the engine. (sounds go's away when worm)

Also something that bothers me is when i first start it my timing belt is really slopie.

Im almost at the point of giving my car to a shop and tellin em to just rebuild the whole motor. (to be honest i dont even know if i can do that hehe)
:talon:

thanks again

It's most likely just your average cold-start lifter tick from no oil pressure, once the oil gets up there and lubes the lifters it goes away.

Ok i just changed my oil and filter like 20 miles ago.

I feel like im loseing a little power but i dont know the car good enuff.
Timing belt looks brand new i can really get a picture right now

Don't worry my aunt's car does the loud ticking during the first few seconds of start up as well, then it's gone. Give the car time for the oil pressure to lube up the engine components and make its way to the top of the head and onto the lifters. If it doesn't tick after start-ups you are fine.

which oil are you using and what is the weight of the oil

did you use an original filter????? i saw cars ticking due to aftermarket filters and once they change the filter with an original one the ticking went away

let us know

That makes no sense. An oil filter has nothing to do with resolving his lifter tick, it only cleans out the oil. Assuming it is lifter tick, if he says it only happens during start-up then its fine, it is a cold engine that needs time to warm and lube up. Regardless of oil weight, now if it ticks all the time, even after start-up, then the oil used is probably not in accordance to weather temps.

DSMJ89 do not through facts and say that it does not make sence , i saw cars with lifter ticks due to a cheap and knock off oil filters , actually there are thread in here speaking about that you might need to search.

thanks

Oil filters have a silicone lip that acts as a one way valve. Most of the time they don't work worth a crap. If you have a filter that works as intended, the filter should keep the oil in the pressurized galleries from draining back into the pan when the engine is off.

That (and perhaps better flow) is why the good filter can solve ticking problems at cold startup. I personally wouldn't use a cheap POS oil filter on my $100 winter beater, much less my built 4g63t.
