engine simulation

Ok so i was watching this clip on you tube, this guy had just finished cleaning a ecu and socketting job. to see if he did a good job, he connected the ecu to this simulator to see if everything work. has anybody done this. if so can someone tell how to get one

...Let me see if I can find a link. I think your talking about Jeremy, over on Hotrodcoffeeshop.com. He does rewires for us guys running rear wheel drive and wanting to clean up the harness. Its connected to a battery and I cant remember what needs done from there...give me a few and I'll re edit...a link to the video would be good though.

A Bench Harness is fairly easy to build, just need a 12 volt supply, ecu plugs, and wire.

I use a Bench Harness for Flashing ecus out of the car and testing new code.

A Engine Simulator would be more difficult on a DSM then a Honda because of some of our sensors.

The Honda use a MAP for airflow which outputs 0-5 volts, our MAFs output a frequency.

Also our CAS and Crank Sensor output a frequency, but the two signals must be a certain amount of degrees out of phase from each other, and the CAS has different size waveforms for each cylinder.


But it is possible with a little electronics know-how. The CAS/Crank signal generator will most likely be the most difficult part.
