Hey guys

I recently blew my jdm motor , when I checked the compression the motor had 150 across , but when it got to piston 1 it had 25, so it was time for rebuild I replaced all the belts balance shaft ,timing etc replaced crank , cam seals almost everything the only thing that I didnt replace were the other pistons that were not fried I only replaced that burned piston and put all new rings on all the pistons and I replaced rod bearings .....now I get this HUGE CRAZY VIBRATION under any rpm range even when i switch gears the whole car just vibrates like its gonna blow up I have never encountered this problem before what could cause this .....

Help before I go nuts

I hope (for your sake) It's simply that your Balance shaft is 180deg out of phase as that woudl definitely cause the vibration you speak of. Set the TBelt to TDC and insert a screwdriver into the service hole . If can go in 2.4" then your ok, if only 1" then you'll need to redo the TBelt alignment. :dsm:

I would just get rid of the shafts completely...Less to go wrong in the future. I got rid of mine and I honestly can't feel any more vibrations at all. Just make sure your rotating assembly is balanced.

Glad I could be of help :D

^^ Definitely agree.. suprised that after going thru all the work of an engine rebuild this was not done (an extra hour labor and $50 for the elimination kit). As for added vibration, unless you're running poly mounts, the extra vibration is hardly noticable (and is what you'd expect from a factory non BS 4-cyl).
