engine pulling tranny problem

hey im kinda new to this site, but anyway i just started to pull my engine and i have everything disconnected and every thing unbolted, tranny and all, but i need to know how to unbolt the flywheel, when i try to pull the engine it wont pul up out of the transmission. its kinda hard to expalin, but could anyone give me some info on how to pull the engine out??

If you are trying to pull the engine seperate from the transmission, you first have to slide the engine away from the tranny far enough that the input shaft pulls out of the engine, then you can raise the engine out. If you already have everything disconnected on the engine and trany, why not just drop (not lift out) the engine and tranny together?

is this an auto? if so you need to unbolt the flex plate from the torque converter. there be 4 bolts. take that dust shield off from the tranny rotate the engine to get to the bolts.

is it a manual? you need to tate the axles out and slide the tranny away from the engine far enuff so the input shaft from the tranny is out of the pressure plate.

its easier just to pull the engine and tranny out as 1 unit and install as 1 unit.

I say if you still have problems, pry the tranny off and pull it out the bottom first, then pull the engine out of the top.
