Engine noise in 2G Talon

I am buying a 1995 talon and i had the engine checked out by a mechanic. He said their was a noise comming from the engine and he thought it could be a bearing on the alternator. Now an alternator problem doesnt seem to big to me but could this possibly be something else? or an early sign of something else? I would love imput from someone who knows these engines and not simple opinions, however any imput is appreciated. Thank you

well if he was a good mechanic then he was probablly right about the alternator. Go listen yourself, and see if thats where you think its coming from. Also, I would take it to another mechanic and see if he says the same thing. Alternators are not very expensive compared to a new engine
