My Engine warning light came on when I got in my car to go home. I was driving home carefully in the rain when the light turned off. A few days later, this light came on again. This time I didn't pay much attention to it`and drove for several weeks without problems. I washed my car and Engine one day and the light turned off again. As expected, several days later, The Engine light comes on again.

I've been driving with my Engine light on now for about 8 months no problems but my Smog is around the corner. I need to fix it. The Data Reader when I hooked it up to my care said Data Read Error and could give me an error code.

I think its a loose wire in the smog system but how do I find it?

I would just start by opening your hood and taking plugs apart and spraying them with PB Blaster or any other kind of electrical oil/grease. It sounds like you just have a loose wire and when its wet, it makes a better connection.
