I recently picked up a 91 talon tsi and i'm having a problem while accellerating.
When i get past 4000 rpm in pretty much any gear (getting on the gas) i get a massive jolt that might be fuel cut. It happens alot less or not at all when i ease into the gas except in 5th gear. Once it reads about 10 lbs of boost my engine stutters and doesn't want to accellerate at all. I bought new plug wires from satan (mitsu) and ngk plugs (gapped at 0.28) and that didn't make any difference at all. Is there any certain way i should go about fixing this? I was thinking maybe the tps sensor, fuel filter, ecu or knock sensor may need replaced but i'd kinda like to weed it out so i don't end up spending a ton of cash on stuff thats not bad. oh..

any help would be much appreciated

-Check for leak on the intake system, ie: intercooler pipes, intercooler...., easier way is to cap off the intake side of the turbo then pressurize the intake, there should be instruction at the tech section.

also upon inspection of the tps sensor i found out the top screw was pretty loose and the bottom one is non existant. would this cause the problems i am currently having or is it just another problem in my big pile of problems.

same problem i had with my 1g :dsm: a few months ago... it was bad gas and plugs i put in fresh gas with dri gas additive and new plugs (which you've done) and it ran perfect after that. This could be true esspecially if the car has been sitting. Another possible scenario could be a clogged filter, or even a faulty o2 sensor. See if u can get your hands on a OBDI scanner and check the signal. Good luck

well i unplugged the tps sensor and i get a engine code but the car runs 100% better now. guess that was the problem. will it hurt the car or mess with stuff if i leave it unplugged while i order another one?
