what would I have to do to get this JDM 4G63T to fit in my 93 Laser N/T? it's AWD but I was thinking of sealing off the part of the transfer case to take advantge of the better gear ratio, I think it's out of a different car then a DSM because the turbo outlet tube goes up as if it had a top mount, and it has yellowtop injectors, it comes with the

I would like to do the complete swap but if it's a ECU from a galant vr-4 or something then the ECU will not work and I will most likely have to swap all my sensors right?

Thats the galant jdm motor. It came with 510cc injectors and a big 16g. Get a FWD turbo tranny out of a 1G if you want the different gear ratio than the n/a one. From what I hear the n/a fwd tranny has shorter gears and accelerates quicker but lacks the top end of it's taller geared turbo brother. Other than ratio I don't think the turbo FWD tranny was built any stronger but I could be wrong. It would be useless to have the AWD tranny adding weight to your whip.

The engine will drop straight in, as far as the awd trans, if your laser is FWD then take the trans off and sell it for a gst 5 spd tranny, turning fwd's to awd's has been discussed well thousands of times over the past decade and it hasn't been done yet. Whats wrong with your ECU, I know your nt w/ turbo, so if your ECU works with it then it will work on this engine.

EDIT: ^^^ You beat me haha, yes the GST and GSX tranny's were built stronger then the n/t tranny's, the n/t's have quicker gears so its better ratio's for drag, but the ratio's are the only thing good with those tranny's....no offense, just saying.

I'm not going to convert my carto AWD I just want the AWD's better gear ratio, so I thought of fabricating a plate and sealing off the port for the transfer case.

I want to take advantage of the knock sensor and timing retard/advance, I can find a turbo MAFS, but I would really like a turbo ECU, this comes with one so does anyone know what I would have to do to convert it? i know about pinout's for swapping 90/91-94 ecu's but is this ECU compatible? James.

Maybe I missed something but you say that you have a turbo in your car right now, so that means you already have a turbo ecu and all the other stuff to run it. The ECU that comes with the engine you have pictured might have different fuel curves because of the injectors but other than that it will be quick swap.

Well then, Being a newb I don't even know how to link but a guy that goes by Mavisky ( one of the guys that was sponsored this year by the website) has a complete write-up on the swap so do a search on him and if you find the link you'll get everything you need to know. I am in the process of a swap myself and the entire process can be easily accomplished using the search function:thumb:
 
I appreciate it but what I really need to know right now is if the galant ECU is compatible with my 93 laser, does it bolt right up, are their any pinouts, etc. James.

You have to use the turbo ecu and the galant ecu is compatible. Do not run the engine with the n/t ecu you will blow it up. The n/t ecu doesn't have the right fuel maps, it cannot acount for knock and doesn't have the right setup for the mas (7th wire). You will need to run the extra wires for the turbo engine to the ecu and such. There is a write up on this in the n't forum.

thanks for the info now that I know the ECU is compatible I can change he MAF, wire in the knock sensor and wire in the turbo ECU, James.
