engine giving out steam +smoke after rebuilding

hi guys
need urgent help,heres the mod list
wiseco 85.5mm piston,eagle rods,race series bearings,balance shaft eliminated,
block resurfaced and over bored to piston spec ,top compression rings 18.5 bottom 22.5 ,
head resurfaced ported and polished stage 3 .super tech nitride valves,bc spring,hks 264 intake and exhaust ,magnus intake,cometic mls gasket map L19 studs torqued to 1100 inc\lbs,arp main and rods

today was the first start up ,started jus fine there is a slight missing i checked resistance on injectors was giving me perfect 2 to 3 ohms ,did a continuety check on connectors perfect .

Main problem started aftr 5 mins well i was smoking slightly but when i started reving it it was smoking more and more i looks like steam white smoke.temprature started rising up at idle wen i took it to 1500rpm constant temp started declining.my car is smoking steam white smoke .
we found out the turbo water line is leaking water tht we will fix it but why is it smoking steam white
sorry for the long story but i m screwed coz of the amount of money the rebuild took

Are you sure it's not just oil and other fluids burning off the motor. During a rebuild or any major motor work fluids invariably get on the motor and start to burn off the first time the motor heats up. I would let it idle for awhile keeping on eye on things. It's very likely that the smoke will start to subside after awhile.

Ok i went today and turned it on for like 15 mins ,i checked my oil cap ,radiator cap and my dip stick all off thm are foam type this means coolant is mixing with oil but i dun understand i m using cometic mls hg and maps h11 head studs i torqued itto 90 ft/lbs
my head was resurfaced and the block ,can the turbo be bad and leaking water to oil area co loads of water is coming out of the exhaust even thw o 2 housing to downpipe connection is throwing hell loads of water out please n e sugestions

You need to do a compression test...

Also, are you running a water oil cooler? Maybe you crushed it on install.

I agree with 97gst_spyder.

Did the machine shop know that you would be using an MLS type head gasket? Resurfacing for an MLS needs to result in smoother finish compared to what you could get away with if using a composite gasket.

From what you've described it sure sounds like a HG to me. Check compression like mentioned earlier and go from there.

i did compression test gives me 150 on all 4 ,today we tried flushing the engine ,
and i replaced my turbo with another one .still water is jus dissapearing from the radiator u put in water and it goes away as if the water is going to the oil pan directly i told the machine shop to resurface it properly as cometic recomends i have torqued it to 1100 in/lbs

weird i am gona open my head on sat do you guys recommend oem mls hg.
i love my dsm i sweat 3 months in building this engine and i cant give up ,my fpgt35r is waiting for it .

any advice is appreciated

I would check head gasket.

Oem should be fine with arps, mls make sure block is flat and head seems too much work.

What is the compression ratio of the pistons that you used? I would ask the machine shop exactly what method they used to resurface the head and block to be absolutely sure. I'm not familiar with L19 install instructions. Should they be re-torqued after heat cycling? Other than that maybe a crack in one of the coolant passageways (?)

hi guys
i mechanic said its leaking from 2 of the guides,is it posible .another update this head had bent valves by the previous owner so i used this head .what should i do next is it repairable or jus change the head .
i will post pic of leaking coolant from guides tomorow

To be on the safe side you probably need a new head. When the valves got bent they cracked the head's coolant passges around the valve guides. You might be able to get away with just replacing the guides for a little while, but properly repairing those cracks will be difficult. Getting a good (pressure tested) head core will be the cheapest/best option for you unless there has been an expensive porting job done on your current head, in which case it may be worth it to investigate repairing the one you have.
