Hello everyone, I’m having this issue whenever I start my car in the mornings, If I don't keep it at 1k rpm it will die, I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal for 5 sec at least, and then the RPMs will drop at about 300 and it will make its way up as the engine warms up, any idea what could be wrong?

Hello everyone, this is my second day in a row asking for help, I’ve been having this issue whenever it’s cold outside (44f/6Celsius) my engine would die whenever I don’t press the gas for a couple seconds, as I did in the last part of the video, anyone has any clue what can be happening?

That would probably be a faulty IAC valve (idle air control). Double check the connector, but at this age almost all of them have gone bad. Before I deleted mine I was keeping multiple spares around. They're essentially an electric motor with a needle plunger. The electric motor either stops working, or acts sluggishly like your case. I think placement so close to the EGR was a design flaw.

One thing I'll note about replacement, tons of Chrysler engines used a similar part, which could be listed as interchangeable. It's likely when you buy a new one that the needle tip will be a larger size. This will cause low idle from air restriction. Unscrew your current tip and use it on the new IAC motor if it appears different.
