engine detonation?!?!?!?!

ok so im drivin around and messin w/ my car and im goin about 30 in 1st gear.. about to red line when i hear this huge knocking sound on the bottom of my car and suddenly my car isnt pushing anymore...the rpms are dropping.. if i press the gas it doesnt increase speed my rpms just rase.. and it didnt pop out of gear cuz i know wut thats like..so i take it into 2nd and its goin fine ....well now were goin down the highway and all of the sudden my car just shuts off in the middle of the highway goin about 50 i dono wtf caused it.. i had a half tank of gas, battery works....my dad thinks no fuels getting through...because you can see that the batterys workin so i dono wut the hell to do please help me........... my dsm is my life.

first off wtf are you doing in 1st gear at 30 mph? do you enjoy noise?

well if you want to check fuel, you can listen to your fuel pump to see if it turns on. when you turn the key to the ON position the relay will switch, that sound can be heard under the hood if you listen good, and if you put you ear by the passenger side of the back seat you should hear you fuel pump turn on

the relay sounds like a click sound, and you fuel pump sounds like a low pitched whine.

but i don't think that is your problem. have you check your timing belt? i would say you f-ed up something internally if it made a loud knocking sound.

also another tip for you:

detonation in an engine refers to the fuel spontaniously combusting because of either heat, compression, or a combination of the two. and detonation normally would happen under full boost when you are a: running to much boost b: running shitty/not enough gas c: have to small of an intercooler. or a combination of them.

and generally detonation unless severe is not TO harmful to the motor
