Why doesn't anyone make a engine damper for our cars. I am a big fan of them and relaly wish we had an option.

I know they don't make one specifically for our cars, but I do know that Ingalls makes a universal one. Only thing is im just not exactly sure how you would bolt it to the motor. The site talks about mounting kits, but the only mounting kits I see are for the 2000+ eclipses. In all honesty though why not just go with poly mounts they pretty much do the samething, if thats not enough upgrade the suspension. Here's a link to those universal mounts though Import Auto Performance - Suspension - Engine Torque Dampers - Ingalls Universal Engine Torque Damper

See the many threads on Prothane motor mounts.

I have them in my Talon and believe me the engine doesn't move relative to the chassis.
On the other hand the chassis moves relative to the dashboard.

Ummm... I wouldn't say they don't perform... but I'll check out some motor mounts.

Engine dampers take the tourque off your motor when under hard abuse, or stopping starting that kind of thing. They perform. If you have a damper you wont wear your mounts out as fast.

Some cars need them and others don't. It depends on how the particular car's motor mounts are. You won't see an rx-7 300hp+ without them, grant that it is a rotary, it needs the dampers. I have a 2.4 that really needs it because the engine moves a lot.

But if you still are not convinced, take a look at a mount that does have a damper. The engine barely moves at all and when it does it is a very smooth motion instead of a jerking action like you get with bad motor mounts.

Then tell me this. Why is it that many of the most powerful and fastest cars DO NOT use them..?
The World's fastest and most powerful cars don't need them because they aren't concerned with engine longevity. They make a pass, and rebuild/replace the engine. So, they don't have to worry about dampening torsional vibrations to preserve long-lasting engine life.
