Langley,
like the title says, are they worth it? where are the most common places to connect the kit to on a 1g NA?

Well, one of the magazines said it got them 15 hp.

So much for magazines.

They can be worth it, but not for what they cost. Get some wire, eyes and a crimper and build your own for half the cost. Ground the major engine castings -head, block, intake manifold- to the battery, or the terminal on the body where the frame is grounded.

do they come with some sort of factory grounding wire. cuz i have a wire that goes from my throttle plate to a bolt on the frame, so i assumed that was a ground wire and i grounded my nitrous there.

heres the picture from my tech article that shows it. is that factory ground wire?

yeah it looks like that's a factory ground point...but i've heard that the stock ground wires arn't up to par so if u upgrade to a 4,8 guage wires u should see some better results just like they did in the mag where they added the HKS wire kit (waste of money) and it added like 15hp,20trq, nice results on something u came make ur self for under 30 bucks

I've actually seen a dyno on them and they do give about 1 hp extra. But its a pretty good idea for the electrical system especially if you're running a system or a few extra electronics. I have yet to get it done on mine but I've been planning on it.

1 hp can't be measured on a dyno, I'd say save your money for something that will actually help your car like a Tornado or electric supercharger

I say do it, make your own. You can find wire at any stereo shop and just take a saturday and do it. Take your time but once you have it done, it will look cool and it might actually help your engine out a little. I want to do one for my ride but i havent had the time to do it.

Good luck :thumb: :talon:

I know it sounds ridiculous but I saw it I believe in Import Tuner mag. It dynoed a 1.3 hp gain I think, something like that.

I have one on my car my friend on 2gnt made for me. he sells them on there and his SN is Jwoodley. But I noticed a full volt increase on my apexi tt volt guage. I didnt really notice an increase in power.

Oh, well, if it was in a ricer ripoff magazine, then it must be true.

You can't run two dyno tests within 1.3hp of one another.

Oh I believe you, I just think that any cars that saw a gain probably had issues with their grounds in the first place. You could get the same benefit just by cleaning corrosion off the ends of the stock ground wires.

well i don't know about you guys, but I am running a ton of extra or upgraded electronics in my car, so better grounding is a must in my mind, i don't want to blow anything.

I removed those puny grounds in my engine bay today and made my own with 8ga wire. I don't know about power but it definately helped my electrical system. No more engine noise from my system. Just a quick question, I found four (negative battery terminal, one from the tranny to frame next to coolant reservoir, one from tranny to firewall, and one from intake manifold to firewall) is there more?

I made all of my own grounding wires... BUT only because I needed to. the battery is relocated into the trunk. so I needed to give the motor a better chassis ground since it is no longer hooked directly to the battery..
