Okay so heres my life story... I have a 1995 eclipse GST with an evo3 16g turbo, SBR tubular manifold w/ TIAL 38mm wastegate set at 1.3 bar (just about 19psi), a 3" Turboback exhaust, 650cc injectors, 255 Walbro pump, Apexi S-AFC (getting DSMLink soon).. Thats about it..

Went to get it all tunedd.. on the ride home BANG, at only 4k rpm, the piston/rods/crank.. pretty much everything is messed up

Time for a new block! I tried doing some research on the 6-bolt blocks.. but trying to dig up the right answers got to be very confusing in different threads.. so here goes..

Is it really possible to get a 6-bolt block and just slap it on the 2g head, transmission, clutch/flywheel? Do i still have to get the 1g cam sensor or something like that as well?

And im also on kind of a tight budget as well.. around 3k. So any suggestions on where to get a good shortblock for this setup or anything?

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated, Thanks in advance ;-)

Well you just can't "slap" a 2g head on a 6bolt block, you need to have it machined to use the 1g head studs.

other then that check out Magnus's wright up, its the way that i think every one is using for the swap. Magnus PDF 1g in a 2g

Okay thanks, ill check that out.. I guess the engine just got overworked, i got it off ebay used so im sure it just couldnt handle the dyno tune it just went through and got overworked... god only knows how many miles that engine really had LOL. But when i took the oil pan out today, chucks of cylinder + connecting rod + chips of crank fell out... LOL not a pretty sight..

ouch, you would't by chance have a picture of a good stock 2g rod would ya?? I think the old owner of mine had 2g pistons/1g rods installed but i cant find a picture to tell me other wise. Hope the magnus link works out for ya.

Yea that definetly helps alot thanks :) LOL it looks like i need 1,300$ worth of parts on top of the block then! maybe im better off just getting another 7bolt rebuilt block.. Sorry i dont have any pictures of the rods right now =/
