I have a 1990 1g FWD Turbo, I'm completely rebuilding my engine.

I've been told that the stock pistons are 7.8:1, most of the aftermarket pistons like the wiseco ones that I've been looking at are 8.5:1, what would I upgrade in order to run 8.5:1 pistons?

Also would the stock fuel injectors and pump be sufficient to run 16-18 psi on a small 16g?

Thanks guys!

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. I was thinking of going with FIC 650cc injectors with a walbro 255/190 pump with a fuel pressure regulator.

The problem I had before I pulled the engine was it was smoking real bad, hitting fuel cut and I was getting spanked on by scions....

I've already got everything apart, I'm not sure if the rings are warped or cracked but I think the valve guides may have been leaking. So I just panned to replace some valves, have new valve guides put in and throw some new rings on.

These are a pictures of my valves, I'd really like to replace them all but is it necessary? Or should I just replace the 2 exhaust ones that are really messed up?

As far as the pistons go you don't have to change anything. I ran 8.5:1 Ross pistons in my eclipse for almost a year with out changing a thing.
