I know this should be on the parts review section but since im a newbie is not letin me .

I purchased a coilover set from emusa last month.im a student in a tight budget and needed some kind of upgrade from my blown stock suspension .the ebay seller sell this for 450 shipped but i call emusa and i got it for 375 shipped. I know there is other reviews about this coilover set ,but since emusa revised this product im doing a new review .I was goint to buy the tokico hp set but i took a chance with this ones .I cant drive my car right now because i need to replace the rear hub and bearing so i i haven't install the coilvers. ( car is my dd )

This set is 16way damping adjustable , not sure but i think is to adjust the rebound.

Pillow ball top mounts but no camber plates, i checked for play and everything looks to be fine.

Individual height adjustment.

Front spring rate 8kg , Rear is 6 kg

and here are some pics i took today one front and one rear . I ll update when i install them prabably in a couple of weeks. sorry for the big pics

I got this installed yesterday , the ride is not bad a bit bumpy like all coilovers i guess . but is not bouncy like u see cars on cut springs bouncing all over LOL. I have the dampin set on full hard so i guess that ll make it more bumpy . what im not sure is on how low they go because we getting snow every week here , but i ll lower it to the max soon and post pics and a video on how they ride on the highway . I ll keep updating

FYI they are made by the same company that makes Megan Racing coil over.

Almost all car parts are made in the same factory in China. I bought an ebay short throw that was made in the same factory as B&M. It's just price and a cool logo.

That's cool but these are a bit more upscale they are made in Taiwan.ROFL

That's pretty damn low. Although with my Tien SS on my 3g I can drop the frame on the ground. ROFL

Are there 1G versions? But YUCK I hate that blue color.. I could live with green or purple, even orange or red but blue.. sigh*

What do you mean bumpy? And do they have adjustable bump and rebound damping?

i cant really explain it ,i ll try to get a video driving around, yea it has the knob on top but i dont know how to mess with it that much

Do you have a link to the specific ebay seller? Or even better, a number of the place that gave the $375 price?

You called EMUSA directly and they gave you the $375 price?

I checked Emusa-automotive on ebay and they don't have ANY parts for sale.

Thanks

Huge as in better or worse? Bumpy more bumpy? Bouncy? Stiff legged?

its really stiff now its better since the streets here are shit right now. when i had it on soft it wasent so bumpy but now is a little more bumpy i guess because is alot more stiff but no bouncing around which is good .

i was told by another member that the ebay seller wont lower his price and he also told me that he called emusa and they offer two sets of coilovers just like megan does a street set and a racing set,my set must be the street set since is the cheaper one , right now im happy with what i got for 375 :thumb:

So let me get this right.... The whole weight of the car is supported on that last aluminum ring unless you drop it so that the strut hits the bottom of the bore? That sounds sketchy as Shat! Not for me. I would rather my 3k lb car not rest on 4 aluminum fine thread nuts.

Even if your car only weighs 3000lbs, distributing 750lbs per corner (in a perfect 50/50 split) if you took a corner at 1g then your effectivly putting the full 3000 on two nuts. Once again, sketchy. If my logic or math is wrong correct me, but I still don't see that design being a good idea unless its bottomed out.

I'm sure all that weight isn't on just those two bolts. There is a lot more to the suspension. The A-arms and control arms will take some of that weight too. Plus, how does this suspension bolt up different than any other suspension setup? These have the same bolt locations. I'm sure they will be just fine.

I had these a year ago. They lasted three months. They first came with a problem with the pillow ball being sloppy and knocking. They turned from a nice firm ride at full firm, to a lumber wagon on springs on full firm.

I hope you have a better experience than me.

JIC all the way.

Your right to an extent. Swaybars help distribute the load and will act like a spring, but the bottom line is that all of the sprung weight of a vehicle rests on the springs and struts. There is no way around that. And in this case, one single fine threaded aluminum nut per corner which is circled in red. Like I said, sketchy design.

I wasn't talking about how they bolt up. Yes they would be installed in the same location as any other spring and strut combo. I have absolutely no idea where you got that from? :banghead:

That nut has nothing to do with holding the weight of the car. That nut simply keeps the lower sleeve from turning. The lower sleeve is completely threaded and that's what's doing the work. It's also tightened at the bottom in the stock location. Its going anywhere.

Nothing sketchy about it if you actually had your hands on them or maybe installed them for that matter. Then tried adjusting them after install you'd see that the design is just fine.
