whats up guys, i have a question about CONNECTICUT state emissions. Currently, i have a 99 eclipse gs-t with the 7 bolt motor. As everyone knows, this is an OBD2 motor so for emissions here they just plug in the scanner and check for readiness monitors and make sure the CEL can be turned on and off. Recently my 7 bolt motor started knocking for the 2nd time after i replaced the connecting rod bearings. So right now, my options for this car are the following; rebuild my 7 bolt motor, buy another usdm 7 bolt motor, get a jdm 7 bolt cyclone motor, or get a 6 bolt motor. This is my question, since 6 bolts are OBD1, can i do this? since i would be going from an OBD2 motor to an OBD1, i am unsure if the state would want me to backtrack like that. Let me know what you guys think and anyone that knows about connecticut emissions pleaseee chime in on this.
